Had another "cheese panda-worthy" dining experience. For Sara's birthday we went to Nicola's in Cincinnati. http://nicolasrestaurant.com/page/ntxe/Home_Page.html
I, not being a real foodie, kind of played it safe, but it was still excellent; Sara's a more sophisticated diner. Sorry, again, no pictures.

I went to Chicago last week, just for a few days, but had a pretty good time. We stayed at the downtown Chicago Hilton. It was pretty nice, and the location was awesome (walking distance to everything you'd want really), but maybe not as nice as I would have imagined a flagship luxury hotel would have been.

Still, not shabby for Spring Break. We did the obligatory visit to the Art Institute, that was really the only thing that Sara really wanted to do - never having been there. In fact, I took a picture of her in front of Seurat's "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" on my camera phone, but encountered two problems. First of all, the lighting was a little too dim and thus the picture came out pretty fuzzy. And not the the good, impressionist kind of fuzzy either. Just bad picture fuzzy. Second, after trying just about everything, I am still unable to find any way to send or otherwise get these pictures from my phone to anywhere else. Not that it would've mattered, Sara would've been no more clear than those pointilized Parisians. I'll skip posting a stock photo of the Seurat.

We did go to a great Mexican restaurant, Salpicon. Actually, that should have an accent over the "o" and an exclamation point and one of those upside-down exclamation points at the beginning, but I don't feel like figuring out how to do special characters.

The photo makes it look kind of cheesy, but it is really anything but. I couldn't help but notice they had an insanely huge selection of tequilas. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of our meal, but I can tell you I had the
costillitas de borrego con salsa de chile pasilla y tomatillos, which is "rack of Australian baby lamb encrusted with pumpkinseeds and served with a pasilla-tomatillo sauce; accompanied by papas con chorizo and brussel sprouts." I thoroughly enjoyed it, although I'm not enough of a gourmand to say anything more about it. The dessert was actually pretty great I thought; it was an orange-flavored cake covered in three different kinds of ice-milk, with the obligatory mango and raspberry dipping sauces. I may not have made it sound very good or interesting, and it was maybe kind of plain (but in a good, refreshing way) but I kept thinking about it the rest of the night.

Well, that's enough procrastinating. Back to reading about contract law.

This is pretty funny. It's a live action recreation of the Simpson's opening. I wonder what possessed someone to do this. It looks like it was filmed in the UK. http://youtube.com/watch?v=49IDp76kjPw

Things are kind of busy here and I think I'm coming down with a cold. I recently saw both Brokeback Mountain and Good Night and Good Luck. I liked both. As for Brokeback Mountain, I kind of went in expecting to find it kind of overrated or overhyped. I don't know, maybe it was a bit, but I actually found it really affecting. I did not expect it to have such a downbeat ending, but I think given the subject matter and the time and place, it really could only be that way. Good Night and Good Luck I liked as well, though it is a pretty slight movie, its not long at all and it seems a bit padded to get it that long. Nevertheless, I liked it. It is pretty overtly political though, the movie definitely wears its heart on its sleeve and maybe some people might even find it preachy. I saw an interview with David Strathairn (sp?) on 60 Minutes where they showed his performance in a split screen with footage of Murrow and it was pretty impressive. Still haven't seen Capote, maybe I'll try to catch that this weekend.

To those who watch Lost, I came across this extremely thorough hypothesis of the show: http://www.4815162342.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7712 . I don't watch the show, and it seems too late for me to get on board, but this particular hypothesis made it seem pretty interesting.
